Rimac Automobili, the Croatian company lead by the entrepreneur Mate Rimac will provide the lightweight hybrid battery system for the automotive giant Aston Martin, best known for luxury sports cars.
The news is announced in the official statement made by the Aston Martin’s team published on their website.
„The AM-RB 001 boasts a lightweight hybrid battery system supplied by Rimac. Acknowledged as world-leaders in high-performance battery technology, the Croatian-based company has showcased its capabilities with the innovative Concept-One: the world’s first – and fastest – all-electric hypercar“.
Mate Rimac, the founder of Rimac Automobili has already confirmed the announcement in a Facebook post, saying that official report from their company will follow soon.
„While we are still waiting for permission to give an official statement (so please don’t ask for more information from us until our customer gives us the green light), I can share what Aston Martin says. Yes, this is a big deal for us. More info soon“, wrote Rimac in his Facebook post.
Besides Rimac, the key technical partners in producing this hybrid car are Red Bull Advance Technologies and AF Racing.
David King, the Aston Martin’s Vice President and Chief Special Operations Officer said that this hybrid car presents a huge challenge and test for everyone involved.
“Making the AM-RB 001 presents huge challenges. It’s a real test of everyone involved, but that’s as it should be, for we’re genuinely raising the bar with this car. That’s what makes the project so special, and why having the right technical partners is so critical. Some of those names we’re working with are long-standing suppliers of Aston Martin, but there are some new names in there, too. Whether forging fresh partnerships or building on existing relationships, the AM-RB 001 project is a shared engineering adventure we’re all relishing“, said King.
First delivers of this car are expected to be lunched in 2019. More info on the hybrid car find in the Aston Martin’s announcement.
As for Rimac Automobili, this is already a second major business recognition following their cooperation with Koenigsegg, a Swedish manufacturer of high-performance sports cars.
Rimac Automobili is a Croatian car manufacturer, founded by Mate Rimac in 2009, that develops and produces high-performance electric cars, drivetrain and battery systems, headquartered in Croatia. Rimac Automobili’s first model, the Concept One, is known as the world’s fastest production electric vehicle. While Rimac sells high-performance vehicles under their own brand, the company develops and produces drivetrain systems and full vehicles for other companies as well.
